COUPLING DESIGN & FUNCTION
Cascade couplings consist of:
- A central sleeve
- Two end rings
- Tapered rubber gaskets
- Captivated D-head bolts
When bolts are tightened, the end rings move inward, compressing the gaskets against the pipe OD to create a permanent, flexible, leak-tight seal.

INSTALLATION & TORQUE GUIDELINES
Bolts must be tightened evenly in a diametrically opposed sequence to ensure uniform gasket compression.
Typical Torque Values
- M12: 60 – 100 Nm
- M16: 100 – 130 Nm
Torque values may be reduced for flexible pipe materials such as HDPE and GRP.
INSTALLATION & DESIGN NOTES
- Cascade products are non-restrained unless specifically stated
- Axial thrust forces must be absorbed by suitable external restraint systems or thrust blocks
- Couplings and flange adaptors must remain accessible after installation
- Products must not be encased in concrete
- Installation must follow good engineering practice and applicable standards
